| Truedge lenses are made which have a 360° sharp edge on the posterior side of the lens. The sharp edge when implanted in the bag prevents the epithelial cells migrating to the posterior side, thereby reducing the PCO (Posterior capsule opacification) rate. Lens with the sharp square edge form a bend at the edge where they meet the capsule and hence prevents the cells from migrating to the posterior side there by PCO. |

Truedge 360° Square Edge for Preventing Cell Proliferation Mechanical barrier for cell proliferation. |
| |
Exerts 60% optimum pressure on the posterior capsule compared to round edge. |
Excellent capsular contact |
Sharp capsular bend provides a complete barrier to cell proliferation and migration and reduces PCO. |
Cell proliferation occurs maximum at the Haptic – Optic junction,TruEdge has 360° square edge including the Haptic – Optic junction which is very difficult to achieve. |
Truedge has a steep vault of 0.4 mm |
| |
Pushes the lens towards the posterior capsule |
Steep vault Induces capsular bending effect |
Capsular bag forms a cover on the posterior side of the lens. |
Rounded anterior Edge for Reduced Glare and Glistening. |
| |
Rounded anterior edge helps in scattering light rays thus reducing the intensity of internally reflected lights. |
Study shows that glare and glistening can be greatly reduced with rounded anterior edge |
